The draw for the preliminary rounds of the 2009 Korean FA Cup tournament was made on Monday, with the six K3 League and three amateur participants learning what they have to do in order to join the fifteen K-League and fourteen National League sides already waiting in the last 32.
Reigning K3 League champions Yangju Citizen will face Sunmoon University in their opening qualifier, whilst Gwangju Gwangsan take on non-league Gumi Siltron. There are two all-K3 clashes, with Seoul United facing Yongin FC and league newboys Cheongju Jikji going up against the relocated 2007 and 2008 K3 League runners-up Samcheok Sinwoo Electronics.
Matches will take place at the Cheonan Football Centre and Gimcheon football stadium, with the opening round of preliminary matches scheduled for March 1st. The winners from that day will progress to the second round on March 7th, with the victors from that day playing off on March 8th for the three spots available in the last 32 of the competition.
