Suwon Samsung Bluewings' remarkable start to the 2008 season continued as they stormed to yet another victory, this time at home to Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i, and created a host of new records in the process.
Second half goals from Shin Young-rok and Edu ensured Suwon's unbeaten start to the season continued, and gave Suwon their seventh consecutive victory without conceding a goal. The 2-0 win means the Bluewings have scored two or more goals in all nine of their matches so far this season in both the K-League and Hauzen Cup, and have created a new record of seven consecutive victories by two goals or more without conceding.
Seongnam, the only team to have scored against Suwon this season, remain hot on their heels as they crushed Daejeon Citizen 3-0. FC Seoul kept up the pressure with a 3-1 home win against Jeju. Daegu and Incheon lost ground on the leaders as they fell to Pohang and Gyeongnam respectively, and Gwangju's slide down the table continued as Jeonbuk came back from 2-0 down to secure a 3-2 victory. In the weekend's other K-League match, Chunnam defeated Busan 2-1.
In the National League, Ansan Hallelujah were the big winners with a 4-0 victory over Yesan FC. The top of the table clash between Busan Transportation Corporation and Ulsan Mipo Dockyard finished 1-1, and Nowon Hummel recorded their third draw of the season as they held Incheon Korail to a tie by a similar scoreline at home. 2007 runners-up Suwon City picked up their first point of the season with a draw at Gangneung, and Gimhae's impressive debut season continued as they moved level with Busan and Ulsan at the top of the table after Yoon Won-chul's strike gave them victory over Cheonan City.
K3 League champions Seoul United made light work of defeating Pocheon FC as they secured a 3-1 home victory. Challengers Yongin FC and Hwaseong Sinwoo Electronics both picked up full points from their games at Jeonju EM and Goyang FC respectively, but Bucheon FC 1995 surprisingly went down 3-1 at home to Seoul Pabal.
