2002 World Cup squad member Choi Sung-yong will return to Japanese football for a third time as the former Suwon defender has signed for J2 League side Thespa Kusatsu.

The 31 year-old, who joined Suwon in 2002 from Austrian side LASK Linz, previously played for Vissel Kobe in Japan before joining Yokohama FC in the summer of 2006. Choi returned to Korea for the 2007 season with Ulsan Hyundai Horang-i but will play in Japan from 2008.
