Incheon make it three out of three

Incheon United continued their 100% start to the K-League season with a fine 2-1 victory on the road at champions Pohang, as goals from Kim Young-bin and Dragan Mladenovic extended the club's stay at the top of the table.

United endured a torrid time in 2007 as they failed to offer much of a challenge in the league, but the return of manager Jang Woe-ryong from a year's study in England has revitalised the club and evoked memories of their stunning run to the championship final in 2005.

Incheon's form is in stark contrast to the slump that pre-season title contenders Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors find themselves in. The 2006 Asian champions strengthened heavily in pre-season and were tipped to challenge at the top end of the table, but suffered a 2-1 reverse in Ulsan to slump to their third consecutive defeat of the year. Yeom Ki-hoon and Lee Sang-ho were the goal heroes for the 2005 champions as they moved to joint second in the league.

Suwon Samsung Bluewings comfortably saw off the challenge of Gyeongnam as Ahn Hyo-yeon, Shin Young-rok and Seo Dong-hyun all got on the scoresheet in their 3-0 victory. Also winning by the same scoreline were Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma, for whom Jo Dong-geun netted twice in his professional debut against Jeju United.

Gwangju's unbeaten start to the season continued as they came away from Busan with a creditable goalless draw, and Chunnam Dragons and Daejeon Citizen both recorded their first points of the season as they played out a 1-1 draw in Gwangyang.

Daegu travel to the Seoul World Cup stadium to take on FC Seoul on Sunday March 30th.
