Jeonbuk motor on at top of the table

Second half goals from Enio and Seo Jung-jin gave Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors a 2-0 victory over FC Seoul on the ninth round of fixtures of the K-League season, and further strengthened Choi Kang-hee's side's title credentials in what has already been a season full of early surprises. Motors, who went into the weekend at the top of the pile and three points ahead of third-placed Seoul, took the lead two minutes after the break through Brazilian forward Enio, and Seo's left-footed strike five minutes from time wrapped up the points against the capital club.

Gwangju kept pace with the league leaders after a fine two goal victory away to defending champions Suwon. Lee Sang-ho missed a first-half penalty for the home side, and Choi Sung-guk made Suwon pay when he opened the scoring three minutes before the break. Cha Bum-keun's side were unable to find a way back into the match and the victory was assured for the military men in the final minute when Choi Won-kwon made no mistake from the spot, sending Suwon back to the bottom of the table on goal difference.

Incheon United's confident start to the season continued as a second half strike from super rookie Yoo Byung-soo wrapped up the points away to Ulsan, and Lee Chun-soo was on target for the third time this season for Chunnam as the Dragons came back from Daegu with a 2-1 victory. Gyeongnam picked up their first points of the season with a 1-0 home triumph over Gangwon, and a last-minute strike from Bang Seung-hwan rescued a point for Jeju away at Pohang as the sides shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw. In the weekend's other K-League match, Seongnam and Busan played out a goalless draw to leave both sides comfortably mid-table.

Incheon Korail continue to lead the way in the National League, as Heo Sin-young and Kim Heung-sub were on target to see off the challenge of defending champions Ulsan Mipo Dockyard 2-1. Goyang Kookmin Bank recorded their first win since the opening day of the season as they overcame Daejeon Hydro & Nuclear Power by a single goal, and Gangneung kept up the pressure on leaders Korail with a 2-1 away win over Changwon.

The biggest surprise result in the K3 League was Pocheon's 6-1 thumping of Seoul United, a result which is a club-record defeat for the capital club. Namyangju were also big winners as they trounced Asan FC 8-0, and Jeonju EM put four past Seoul Martyrs. Bottom club Goyang remain the only side across all three divisions yet to pick up a point as they lost 2-0 at home to Bucheon FC 1995.
