K-League trumps J-League in All-star clash

The K-League All-star secured a famous triumph over their Japanese J-League rivals as a double from Brazilian forward Edu helped the Korean league select to a 3-1 victory in Tokyo.

The Korean side took the lead in the 37th minute through Seongnam's ex-Kashiwa Reysol forward Choi Sung-guk, and they held that lead into the break.

One minute after the restart, the J-League select were awarded a penalty, but goalkeeper Lee Woon-jae blocked the effort and ten minutes later Edu fired the Korean team into a two goal lead from the spot.

Edu made it 3-0 on the hour mark, firing home from a Choi Sung-guk cross, and though Marcus Tulio Tanaka pulled one back for the Japanese in the 67th minute it wasn't enough to spark life back into the match for the home side and the K-League select prevailed.
