Kim joins Baggies on loan

Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma midfielder Kim Doo-hyun has become the latest Korean international to move to England after agreeing a loan move with Championship side West Bromwich Albion.

Kim impressed Baggies boss Tony Mowbray after December trials at the Hawthorns, and joins fellow Koreans Park Ji-sung, Lee Young-pyo, Seol Ki-hyeon and Lee Dong-guk in England.

The loan deal will run until the end of the 2007/08 Championship season, with the English side having the option to make the move permanent should the 25 year-old former Suwon player impress.

The loss of influential Kim, voted K-League MVP in 2006 when Seongnam picked up their seventh league championship crown, will be a blow to the Chunma ahead of their 2008 campaign, but reports from Japan are suggesting they are lining up a move for Korean international striker Jo Jae-jin. Jo is currently a free agent after his contract with Shimizu S-Pulse expired at December, and was unsuccessful in attempts to win a contract in the English Premiership after trials with Newcastle, Portsmouth and Fulham.
