A Jung Jo-guk strike two minutes from time gave league leaders FC Seoul a 2-1 victory over Gyeongnam and sent them four points clear at the top of the K-League standings on Saturday.
Montenegro national team forward Dejan Damjanovic opened the scoring for the 2008 championship runners-up just after the hour mark, and although Kim Dong-chan drew visitors Gyeongnam level in the 72nd minute, Jung netted his fourth goal of the season to move Senol Gunes' side onto 36 points and four clear of Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors.
With Jeonbuk idle at the weekend, third-placed Pohang Steelers had the opportunity to draw level on points with the second-placed side but they could only manage a 1-1 draw at home to Seongnam. Noh Byung-joon's 50th minute strike looked to have given the Steelers the points, but Colombian international Mauricio Molina scored his first goal in stoppage time for Seongnam to ensure both sides shared the spoils.
Incheon United recorded their first win in eight K-League attempts thanks to a Kang Soo-il goal which was enough to condemn Gwangju to their fifth consecutive loss. Chunnam Dragons were the big winners of the day as they trounced Gangwon 4-1 to move into the sixth and final playoff position whilst Jeju were held to a goalless draw at home to bottom club Daegu.
Kim Doo-hyun scored his first goal since returning to the K-League from West Bromwich Albion, putting Suwon ahead against Busan eight minutes into the second half in the Asiad stadium, but the Bluewings had to be content with just a single point as Yang Dong-hyun equalised for the home side in the 61st minute. In the weekend's other match, Daejeon got a morale-boosting victory as Hwang Ji-yoon netted late on to give Citizen a single goal victory over Ulsan.
