Seongnam Ilhwa Chunma sounded a warning note to the rest of the K-League that they intend to reclaim the championship crown this season with a 4-0 thumping of AFC Champions League participants Chunnam Dragons at the Tancheon stadium.
Kim Jung-woo grabbed his first goal since returning to Korea from Japan to open proceedings, and Dudu doubled the advantage in the 32nd minute. A double from rookie Jo Dong-keun, his second consecutive brace in only his second professional match, secured the points.
Also netting a double was Suwon's Brazilian forward Edu, who helped his side to a 2-0 victory away at Busan and moved his club to the top of the table on goal difference.
Joining Suwon on ten points were FC Seoul, who secured a 1-0 away win at Gwangju through a well-taken free-kick effort from Park Joo-young, and Incheon United, who were held to a goalless draw at Daejeon and lost their 100% record.
Jo Jae-jin put home side Jeonbuk ahead from the penalty spot against champions Pohang, but the Motors' hopes of picking up their first win of the year were dashed by a piledriver from Kim Ki-dong which earned the champions a share of the spoils.
Ulsan slumped to a 3-1 away defeat at Daegu, and Gyeongnam and Jeju played out a 1-1 draw in Changwon.
