Suwon Samsung Bluewings extended their lead at the top of the K-League standings to seven points with a 2-1 win away at Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors, breaking a run of four games without victory in Jeonju and seven overall against the Motors in the process.
Seo Dong-hyun opened the scoring in the 62nd minute for the Bluewings, and though former Suwon forward Jo Jae-jin levelled proceedings in the 70th minute with his fifth strike of the season, youngster Jo Yong-tae fired home the winner in injury time for Suwon.
Defending champions Pohang came away from Seongnam with a creditable 3-2 victory to get their season back on track. Park Won-jae, Kim Jae-sung and an own-goal from Kim Young-chul gave them the points, as though Dudu netted his seventh and eighth goals of the season it wasn't enough for the Chunma who suffered their first league defeat of the season.
Incheon United missed the chance to go second as they let Busan I'Park recover from 2-0 down to claim a share of the spoils. Kim Young-bin forced the ball over the line in the dying seconds of the first half, and then notched a second five minutes after the restart to put the home side in a strong position, however Busan hit back with a double from Lee Seung-hyun and climbed to 11th in the table.
Goalless at half-time, the encounter between Chunnam and FC Seoul exploded into life in the second half as Chunnam raced into a two goal lead before FC Seoul went 3-2 ahead with six minutes remaining. Ko Ki-gu levelled proceedings for Chunnam in the 90th minute, and his side would have gone on to win had Adriano Neves Pereira shown more composure after rounding Kim Byung-ji, however the Brazilian could only shoot into the side netting with the goal gaping.
Daejeon manager Kim Ho will have to wait for his 200th K-League career victory as manager as Gyeongnam came away from Daejeon with a 2-1 win, and Daegu were the victors by the odd goal in five at home to Gwangju. In the weekend's other K-League match, Woo Sung-yong made his 400th K-League appearance as Ulsan secured a 2-1 home win over Jeju United.
In the National League, Ulsan Mipo Dockyard striker Kim Young-hu continued his record of scoring in every single league match this year as his side claimed a 2-0 win in Hongcheon. Gimhae kept up the pressure at the top with a single goal victory at Yesan, whilst Changwon City could only draw 1-1 with Gangneung. Busan Transportation Corporation lost ground on the leaders as they slumped to a 3-1 home defeat against Suwon City.
Hwaseong Sinwoo Electronics continued to set the pace in the K3 League with a comfortable 3-0 victory against Asan United, although Yongin remain hard on their heels after a 4-0 win in Changwon. Bucheon FC 1995 slumped to a third consecutive home defeat, going down 2-1 to Jeonju EM, and 2007 champions Seoul United fell further behind the leaders as they were held 1-1 at home against Cheonan FC.
