Past winners of the All Joseon Football Championship

The All Joseon Football Championship was the first nationally organised football tournament to take place on the Korean peninsula. Eighteen teams from school and public level competed in the first competition to apply the standard football rules as recognised by the rest of the world. Some controversial refereeing and dissent from clubs over interpretation of the rules left the initial tournament without a champion. From 1922 things went more smoothly and as the competition grew, so the classes expanded. From the original 'middle' and 'youth' classes, 'elementary' and then 'professional' classes were added to the yearly competition. The Boseong Professional and Yonhee Professional dominated the professional class, and on occasion entered their sides in the youth class when the professional class was officially dropped from the championship.
The onset of World War two led to the end of the tournament in 1940.
