K-league debutants in 2003, Daegu didn't set the league on fire with their on-the-field achievements, however they were one of the best-attended clubs in terms of fanbase throughout the season, and in 2004 they were one of the most exciting attacking sides in the league, though let down by a leaky defence.
Daegu's scouting network has brought a number of free-scoring forwards to the league, such as Nonato, Feijao and Sandro Hiroshi in recent seasons, however they have yet to seriously challenge at the top end of the table.
