Founder members of the K-League and inaugural champions in 1983, Hallelujah relinquished their league status at the end of 1985 to return to the amateur ranks. A 1988 President's Cup win was the only major trophy the Christian club won before joining the K2 set-up. Protests by radical Buddhist groups during mid-2003 forced the club to leave their then-home of Iksan and withdraw from the second stage, but after finding a new home in Gimpo the side returned to the K2 fold for 2004. Victory in the 2006 President's Cup spurred the club onto a successful National League campaign and the championship playoff final, where they eventually lost out to Goyang Kookmin Bank on aggregate. The expiration of their three year contract to play at the Gimpo stadium at the end of 2006 saw the club on the move again, taking up residence at the newly built Ansan Wa~ stadium for 2007. |
