K3 League

K3 League

Founded in February 2007, the inaugural K3 League season saw ten sides from across the nation compete for the title.

Slotting into the league set-up directly below the National League, the first ever champions of the third level of Korean football were Seoul United who clinched the 2007 championship with an aggregate victory over Hwaseong Sinwoo Electronics.

Membership of the K3 will expand to 16 sides for 2008.

The 2008 season

The league season will operate in two stages, with both stage winners and the two sides with the best overall records qualifying for the championship playoffs. Two winners from the playoff ties will then face off in a two-legged home and away championship final to decide the overall champion.
